Wireless Dog Bell

I bought a wireless dog bell, but my dog was having trouble pushing the button because it's magnetic and generates power itself. The coil base with magnet makes it hard for most dogs to press. Being an EE, I decided to fix this by adding two AA batteries so it lasts about 2 years. The device draws 10ma each time the button is pushed and takes 1 second. Assuming my dog will push the button five times a day, I estimated that the battery will last 20,000 days based on its current of 2000ma. Installation is simple: 1. Remove the coil shown in one picture. 2. Connect any of the battery terminals to one side of the switch and connect the other terminal to the PCB. The remaining wire connects to the other battery terminal. 3. You'll need 4 inserts for 2/56 screws, or you can use anything else. No inserts are required; just make the hole smaller and use a wood screw if you prefer. 6. An example limit switch is shown at https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/omron-electronics-inc-emc-div/SS-5GL2/SW156-ND/137204. Use any similar switch you have. 7. I used double tape to mount the PCB. 8. When installing, make sure not to put it all the way in a corner. You won't be able to open the side screw to replace the batteries. Give yourself enough space to use a screwdriver. 9. I tried black color and think black looks better. 10. For indoor use, I used double tape. For outdoor use, use the two mounting holes on the side.
