Wireless charging battery box
thingiverse
I have a few projects using the Arduino or ESP8266 that transmit data and I power them with old laptop battery cells lying around on my desk. Eventually, an incident occurred where some smoke was released. So, I printed containers to hold the battery pairs, keeping all exposed connectors safely covered. I then had the idea to combine the batteries with an old QI wireless charger coil and charging dock, charging the cells by simply placing them on the charging pad. The end cap is supposed to be an interference fit but this one was a bit big; the one in the attached STL is a little smaller so it should be okay. Print Settings: Printer: XYZ Junior Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 10% Notes: BEWARE!!! Don't plug a USB power lead into the micro USB connector while connected to the wireless charging pad, it destroys the charging pad! I thought it would be protected but no, it doesn't like 5V on its output. Luckily, I bought two; if only I could remember where I put one of them.
