Wireframe Xmas Tree
thingiverse
Maybe inspiration strikes at an unexpected hour. I came across a large steel wireframe tree in a random home decor catalog and decided to scale it down for printing. The design prints in multiple parts, requiring no supports. I tailored the size to fit my Prusa i3 MK2 print bed (200x250mm). The parts snap together with half-lap joints for easy assembly and added strength. A small amount of glue might be necessary depending on your print results. When assembled, the tree stands at 45cm/17.7 inches tall. I used a 5m/16ft long strip of LED fairy lights to wrap around the tree approximately twice. The result looks even better than expected and can be printed quickly in under four hours. You could also hang ornaments on the tree for added decoration. Model units are measured in millimeters, so print each model once, and "Base2" twice.
