Wireframe Xmas Tree
cults3d
I caught a spark of creativity early on, so I dove in :D. I stumbled upon a massive steel wireframe tree in a random home decor catalog and thought it'd be awesome to miniaturize it for printing. It breaks down into multiple parts, making it support-free, perfect for my Prusa i3 Mk2 print bed (200x250mm). The pieces snap together seamlessly with half-lap-joints, providing incredible stability - just a dab of glue might be necessary depending on your print quality. When assembled, the tree stands at 45cm/17.7 inches tall. I wrapped a 5m/16ft long string of LED-fairy lights around it approximately twice to give it an enchanting glow (something similar to YIHONG Twinkling Battery-Operated Fairy Lights on Amazon). The result exceeds my expectations - it's quick, easy, and prints in under 4 hours. You can even hang ornaments from the tree for extra flair. I designed the model with metric units (mm). Print each part once, except for "Base2" which should be printed twice.
