I experienced significant difficulties refining the original model using Simplify 3D. The model contains numerous technical errors, which become apparent when zooming in on the mesh. Unfortunately, S3D slicer fails to produce a satisfactory output with this model. However, I also encountered issues with Slic3r. To resolve these problems, I invested considerable time and effort into analyzing the issue and subsequently employed various tools and techniques to correct the mesh. The revised version now passes all quality control tests and exhibits excellent print quality. Additionally, I increased the scale of the original model by 100%, which was deemed necessary due to its relatively small size. I also modified the ground plate to be solid and flat on both sides. Please refer to the attached image for visual comparison: The right-hand skull is the original version sliced and printed using S3D despite its errors, whereas the left version represents my corrected model, printed under identical conditions. The color disparity between the two prints results from the fact that I used white BDP for the left print, whereas the right print was produced with Flax BDP, both sourced from Extrudr.com. The actual print time required was 10 hours. Edit: Upon further inspection, I discovered that http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1905711 presents an even more refined version of the model than my own attempt, which is recommended for use if you plan to print this design. Print Settings: Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 20% Notes: I attribute the prolonged print times to the excessive retraction inherent in the model's design.
