Wired Controller ID
prusaprinters
Identify your controller so you won't mix it up with someone else's, or identify your children's controllers so they stop arguing about which one to use. I know tape usually does the trick, but I don't like getting glue on my wires it's hard to get out and, let's be honest, 3D printing is so much cooler. This little thing prints in 7 to 9 min depending on which one you choose. Make it the color you want, so you can ID as much controllers as you have different filaments. It snaps on the wire and won't get out untill, if you're like me, get mad and start talking trash about the thing, so don't worry about kids or friends messing around changing them with different remotes. It works like a LEGO hand, but with a smaller gap, making it stay on the wire you put it on. It's a 15 mm long hollow cylinder with 2 mm thin walls to hold the wire. Two versions are available, the only difference is the diameter of the inside hole for the wire. The first version, the diameter is 5 mm and fits nice and tight on my nintendo switch procontroller (4 mm diameter wire), aka it doesn't move on it's own on the wire but I can still move it by hand with no force. The second version has a 6 mm inside diameter, is loose and moves around on the wire. Choose the one you like most, or the bigger one if your controller's wire is bigger then 4 mm diameter.I've printed 2, as you can see in the picture, to identify the controller but also the other end of the wire, the USB plug, so I don't have to follow the wire to know which one to plug in or unplug.I've added the 2 models STL and STEP files, with a 3MF presliced file showing the parameters I've used for printing. I encourage you to add color change to the print and make it fun.
