Wire Spool Rack Anchor
thingiverse
This is a sturdy support system designed specifically for a Cold-RolLED Weldable Steel Metal Round, also known as a solid pipe. The pipe will securely hold six wire spools. To build this system, you'll need two of these supports, the pipe itself, and two screws (6-1 1/2) to attach the supports to a shelf. How I Designed This Design Process I decided to create my own holder for a set of wire spool in my lab's soldering area. To start, I took precise measurements from the wire spool. Next, I found a piece of Cold-RolLED Weldable Steel Metal Round that matched the wire spool hole's diameter and was long enough to hold six wire spools. I calculated the screw size based on the expected weight. Then, I measured the distance between the base (attached part) and the pipe supporting the wire spools. This distance had to clear half of the wire spool's diameter. Using these measures for both the base and the distance from base to pipe, I designed the base and hook as separate pieces in Thinkercad. I created a hole with the cylindrical metal part's diameter in the hook. Finally, I drilled holes for 6-1 1/2 pan head wood screws with freeson drive on the base (two holes).
