Wire Spool Holder
thingiverse
I have numerous spools of wire that were a tangled mess. I was either taping the loose end or slipping it into the wire. A plastic clip to secure it in place seemed like a more practical solution - and here's why. These particular spools are readily available from Fry's or Micro Center. They typically measure about 50mm in diameter when fully loaded, but decrease to around 30 mm empty as you use up the wire. As such, smaller clips will be needed as the diameter decreases. The spools come in two sizes - a tall version and a short one. The taller spools stand at approximately 30mm high, while the shorter ones are about 15mm high. I'm attaching images of four clips: two are for the tall spools (full and empty), while the other two are for the shorter ones (full and empty). Print Settings: Printer: XYZ Da Vinci 1.0 Rafts: Doesn't matter at all. Supports: No supports were necessary in this print job. Resolution: Set to .3. Infill: At 10%, the infill was well-balanced. Notes: The print itself is standard. A glue stick helped attach it to the bed. Rafts and supports were not required, as usual.
