Wire Splice Protector
thingiverse
Protect the low-voltage wire splice by covering it securely. In the past, heat shrink tubing applied to each wire and over the entire assembly was insufficient, so I'm experimenting with a different approach. Print two identical components, which will fit together snugly but require adhesive for a secure bond. I used epoxy primarily at the ends where the wire path is narrower, as well as on the mounting tabs and a small amount in the middle to prevent the wires from shifting and rubbing against each other. The assembly was clamped until it dried completely. The case measures 120mm in length and is designed to accommodate a wire diameter of 4.5MM. Customization options are available through the provided FreeCAD source file.
