Here's how to build a custom compression sleeve for wire shelving: Measured out the existing sleeves and created accurate replicas in Sketchup by drawing a precise half-circle arc and adding a small lip that perfectly engages the groove in each leg. I then exported these designs as .STL files from the Sketchup Extension Warehouse. Finally, I sliced the files with Makerware to prepare them for 3D printing or other fabrication methods.
