Wire Press Die

This is a 3MF file. It has all 3 pieces in the one file. Thingiverse doesn't like only having a 3mf file though, so now each piece has an STL file too. A die to bend some C17200 beryllium copper wire for another project. This was designed for 0.5mm wire. To use it, place a piece of wire in the groove, put it in the vice, then clamp it down. Repeat for the other section. I was hoping I'd have enough pressure for coining to work, but I don't want to break my vice. So it seems there is still some springback. I used 20mm long 2mm diameter dowels from McMaster. Was about 8 and a half bucks for a pack of 50. If you want to modify the file, I would recommend getting longer dowels and making the die longer, so the end pieces won't have to come off to fit the wire in. I just happened to get these dowels for another project, so that's what I used for this. The holes are tight enough to use a press fit for one of the section. Just use a #47 drill bit to open the other segments enough to slide on. I printed it with 100% infill and used PLA for the stiffness.
