I upgraded my Ender 3 with stepper smoothers, which are neatly stored within the controller box, leading to some tangled wiring. To be honest, these smoothers do work, but their impact is quite understated. I wanted a way to keep track of the reorganized wiring that came with them. These custom-made smoothers were inspired by the flexible tubes on both ends of the X, Y, Z, and Extruder wiring on my Creality Ender 3. My version is an improvement since the label is molded into the plastic instead of printed on. Those pre-made tubes are also designed to slip over wires rather than clip onto them, so I made mine easy to apply even when the wires are already connected. The flexible material won't snap or crumple easily under PLA's weight, but it's still thick enough to handle the task. You can either color in the embossed lettering with paint for better visibility or use a crayon if you prefer. Alternatively, you can mark plain clips with markers to label things other than X, Y, Z, or E motors.
