Wire Harness Shield
cults3d
I've got a basic familiarity with Arduino, but it's usually used for rapid prototyping and testing out components quickly. Since I only have one, I often end up removing it from whatever project it's currently connected to in order to use it for something else and then reattach it later. Because of this, I created a simple wiring harness that lets me easily move my Arduino between projects without any hassle. You can freely insert jumper wires and devices with 0.1" headers on the shield while prototyping. Once you've got the Arduino wired up just the way you want it, simply clamp down the jumper wires to make it more permanent. I also sometimes wire in miscellaneous connectors for prototyping, such as a 15-pin PC joystick connector like the one pictured. With this setup, I can connect those directly to the Arduino without worrying about accidentally pulling out any wires while connecting devices and moving them around with the shield installed. There's also plenty of space to access the reset button and the ISP header on my Duemilanove board if needed.
