I crafted this solution to prevent the wires from grinding against the X axis rod on my lab's Leapfrog Creatr. If left unguarded, abrasion will erode holes into the insulation and generate an electrical connection with the chassis. I fell victim to this flaw once, causing extensive damage to multiple control boards before identifying the root cause. I question how manufacturers can overlook a design weakness of this nature.
