Wire Drums and Rack
thingiverse
Fed up with a box full of hook-up wire, I designed some mini drums to store small-gauge wire. My design relies on the use of 20mm plastic conduit. Short lengths of this conduit are used as the body of each drum. The hole in the middle of the drum ends is exactly 20mm, making it easy to attach them to the conduit by simply pressing them into place - no glue required. A small hole can be drilled into the drum's body conduit to poke through the wire and prevent it from rotating on the drum. The rack design also relies heavily on the use of 20mm plastic conduit. Two lengths, the same size as the drums' bodies, slot neatly into the end brackets. These brackets can then be securely attached to a wall using four screws. I've used red drums for stranded core wire and blue drums for solid core wire.
