Wire cutting handles for clay, stickers, car badges and ornaments, etc

I looked for simple solution to handle a wire for cutting some... things :) You may find many commercially available handles but this my proposition, build from 4 parts: nut, cap, handle and wedge. By nut I mean the part which looks like the cap with the cylindrical pushrod inside. To print the handle and wedge use some brim for stability! Also, for handle, use the support for surface inside the threaded end which stays on the table of printer. After print cut off the brim and remove any strings. Now you are ready to use it! Push the wire thru the small hole on the side of handle. On the other side stop the end of wire with your finger. Then push in the wedge, which catches and stops wire inside the handle. Use nut to stop the wedge. On the other side of handle you may screw the cap for better look :) If you want to remove the wedge and wire just replace the nut and cap, then screw in the nut and remove wedge.

Of course this solution is for light works only. I use it often to cut off some stickers or badges from cars. You may use some fishing line as a cutting wire. In my case the Berkley Fireline Smoke 0,32mm (23,5kg) fits perfectly :) Enjoy!

Print instructions

Printer Brand:
Prusa

Printer:
i3 MK3

Rafts:
No

Supports:
Yes

Resolution:
0,2

Infill:
15% and 100% in the threads

Filament:
Plast-Spaw PETG or ABS

Notes:
To print the handle and wedge use some brim for stability!
