Wire Chain
thingiverse
Trying again, I had some trouble printing Snille's Wire chain - the overhang on the bottom piece wouldn't cooperate until I tweaked the print settings just right, then things fell apart literally when I tried to snap the pieces together! And it wasn't even - some were a snug fit, while others seemed to be pulling their punches. Guess it all boiled down to the differing print settings, messing with my delicate assembly process. Switching gears, I'm giving Snille's design another shot this time, using a 3mm filament rod as the pivot piece. The inner one is intentionally loose, making for an easier press fit on the outer piece. To secure things even more firmly in place, I think a tiny amount of heat from my trusty soldering iron or some clear glue might be just what I need to seal this little guy together once and for all! Taking a step back and reassessing my build process, I lengthened the entire project by 10mm and made it a touch wider at 5mm. With these subtle adjustments, I'm hoping I can knock this puzzle together more efficiently in less time, while accommodating more delicate wires along the way.
