The rear wiper gear on my BMW E60 is malfunctioning and I need to replace it. The gear is a small plastic part located at the base of the windshield wiper arm, responsible for engaging and disengaging the wiper blade. To access it, you'll need to remove the trim panel under the steering column, then pull out the wiper arm and release the retaining clip. From there, you can slide the gear off and replace it with a new one.
