WIP: Y-Belt Retainer/tensioner/holder
thingiverse
ATTENTION! I crafted this bespoke holder, and it fits flawlessly in terms of height. Unfortunately, I neglected to mention that the belt is mounted upside down :(\nSo, after disassembling my Prusa i3 and setting up a new Y-carriage, I had to create a provisional mount to get my printer operational again. As I am modifying my Prusa i3 to achieve a more stable build carriage, I developed a customized version of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23882 I modified it using OpenSCAD (quick and dirty) to have a more robust and elevated holder, compatible with the Prusa i3 acrylic edition. I believe they should also work on the steel edition. The provided files are designed for T2.5 belts and can be easily adapted for other belts as well. Huge thanks go to John Newman for this design! The components: RetainerTensioner is meant for tightening the belt. Holder is meant for clamping the belt and securing it with a simple M3 screw without puncturing the belt. Using these settings: Space Width = 2.4 Belt width Ext = 20 Radius M3 = 1.7 Inside Width = 15 Outer Diameter External = 12.5 P Wheel Width = 9 B lip Height = 6 Part Height = 5 Die Rise = 0 Adjustment = 0.5 Total Flange Thickness = 2.7 Wall Tooth Width = 2.6 Wall Belt Width = 6.2 Floor thickness = 1 T base width = 1.5 B Roof Thickness = 2.2 Wall Hexagon Diameter = 6.9 lip External Width = 30 D Hexagonal Diameter = 2.5
