This project is still in development. Once the pump is functional, I will finalize the design of the skimmer's base. ____ ____ ____ CHANGELOG 6/30/17 - Completed the lower body and updated the upper neck profile to fit a 1/8" thick, 6" wide acrylic tube. 6/23/17 - Rounded off the bottom of the upper neck for aesthetic purposes. ____ ____ ____ Considering protein skimmers are often expensive due to their components, I wanted to create a replica that would cost less than half as much. This skimmer features the pump in the reaction chamber itself, saving space for those with smaller sumps like mine. You will need approximately 18 inches of height in your sump area to comfortably house this skimmer. In addition to the 3D printed parts, you will also require: -A foot of 6" OD, 1/8" thick acrylic tubing for the walls of the collection cup and lower skimmer body -A Jebao DC-1200 pump kit, which I purchased from Fish Street with a needle wheel impeller and intake silencer: http://www.fish-street.com/coral_box_dc_skimmer_pump -A gasket ring for the upper neck to seal the connection between it and the collection cup -4x M5 nylon thumbscrews for the bottom base. If unavailable, try printing some using this template: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2175820 Assembly video coming soon, once I complete designing this!
