My final masterpiece is now complete! After the iconic "Venus in Furs" by the Velvet Underground (listen on YouTube), behold, a marine wooden rendition of the Venus de Milo, weathered to perfection by the relentless sea, then painstakingly restored by a skilled artisan's hands! This latest work-in-progress for the Sketchfab texturing challenge is inspired by the legendary Venus de Milo (Aphrodite of Milos) at the SMK museum, boasting an impressive 274k triangles. The modeling process involved straightforward boolean operations in Blender, leveraging an intermediate object meticulously sculpted by hand to create the intricate holes. The materials employed are a masterful blend of various PBR textures and cleverly crafted Cycles nodes setups, deftly blending the zones of influence for each material. While I'm pleased with the overall result, I must admit that this model is a tad too dense in triangles and textures – I'm already envisioning a replacement with a more optimized version, one that will surely please even the most discerning eyes!
