A diminutive, angular sapling sprouted from the earth, its slender branches stretching towards the sky like skeletal fingers. The low-poly maple's trunk was a rough-hewn cylinder, its bark a muted brown that blended seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. A scattering of sparse leaves clung to its limbs, their delicate edges wavering in the breeze like a dancer's skirt.
