Winning Design - Filament Spool Holder for 3DPN Filament Shelving System

This design is one of three winning entries in Joel Telling's filament shelving system spool holder contest. A typical filament holder that hangs directly from the front 1x2 beam can cause it to twist and warp over time, resulting in a less than sturdy structure. To avoid this issue, I designed a holder that suspends between the front and rear 1x2 beams, thus distributing the weight evenly and minimizing strain on these wooden components. My other design goal was to create a holder that is as non-intrusive as possible, allowing it to be placed in multiple locations without obstructing the spools on the shelves. This design is remarkably easy to install, move, and remove. Simply tilt the holder to hang the front clips onto the front 1x2 rail and then allow the rear of the holder to swing up and engage with the rear 1x2 rail. Hang your filament spool and start printing. To relocate simply tilt the holder to release the rear of the holder and slide it to the desired position.
