Wings of Glory Counter Boxes
thingiverse
I made custom-sized boxes to hold my Wings of Glory counters, each one carefully designed for specific purposes. A-D are reserved for damage tracking, while blank ones will store smoke, fire, altitude, and other important details. I'm planning to keep those separate to maintain clear organization. These boxes will also fit cards and plane bases perfectly, allowing you to ziplock up the counters and store cards within when everything is put back in the box. This system will save space and make it easier to access what you need quickly. To improve the lid design, my initial idea is to find a way to fit a plane on top of it, as storage for planes is notably lacking in standard Wings of Glory boxes. I'll post an update once that's accomplished! I'm thinking of printing these custom boxes with Messerschmidt blue and Spitfire green colors – where can I find that camo filament some folks have been working on? I'd love to incorporate it into my project. 02/06/19: I added a new lid design (2.0) with a decorative fire arc and a nub that should fit a plane perfectly on top of the box. 02/16/19: I printed the custom boxes, processed them, and gave them a quick coat of paint along with some leftover stickers from a Spitfire model kit. The result is fantastic – it even features a flight of Junkers planes, which fit seamlessly into the cut-outs. This means I can store everything without needing to use the lids at all!
