Title: Through a Scanner - Winged Victory of Samothrace in 3D Printable Form! Cosmo Wenman revisits the iconic Winged Victory of Samothrace, one of the world's most celebrated sculptures. In September 2013, the Louvre removed this ancient masterpiece from public view while it undergoes an extensive, year-long restoration. To fill the void left by its absence and to share this dramatic work's mystique with a broader audience, Wenman used Autodesk's ReCap Photo photogrammetry software to create a high-quality 3D model of the plaster cast of Winged Victory housed at the Skulpturhalle Basel museum. This capture is believed to be the first high-quality 3D survey of Winged Victory to be freely published, and Wenman invites you to explore its intricate details directly. Furthermore, he has made his 3D model available for download on Thingiverse, so that anyone can print their own version of this iconic sculpture in unlimited editions.
