Wing struts for Maker Trainer 2

Wing struts for Maker Trainer 2

This is a reinforced wing strut for the Maker Trainer 2 plane designed by Lucas Weakley. I constructed multiple versions of this aircraft using 5mm foam, but the wings proved too pliable for the compact body I created, causing them to shatter during flight tests with FPV equipment rather than mere gliding. To prevent breakage, I rapidly conceptualized and printed this strut. Its design accommodates a diagonal placement on a standard 220x220 print bed. Duplicate the model, but mirror it along the x-axis for attachment to the opposite side of the fuselage. I produced the strut in PLA, which withstood an evening's worth of high-stress maneuvers including rolls and sharp turns without any issues. Secure the strut to both the wing and body using CA or hot-glue, being cautious when applying hot-glue to PLA as it tends to soften easily. Don't forget to share your creations on social media!
