Wing Spinning Dove Decoy
thingiverse
I noticed there were no dove decoys available to print so I made one. You can have all 3 types of decoys with the body design. You can print the two halves and paint to have a regular decoy. You can glue in an electric motor and have your own mojo voodoo decoy or make a wing powered decoy. Electric Motor Build: Motor: Mabuchi 12vdc RS-385PH-1470 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mabuchi-12V-DC-Motor-2100-2900-rpm-DUAL-SHAFT-hobbies-RC-CARS-LOT-of-4-motors/162123316361?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Wire: 18ga 2 conductor wire https://www.amazon.com/Pico-Conductor-Parallel-Primary-Package/dp/B0002ZGC5U/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&qid=1601180444&refinements=p_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A6426167011&s=lamps-light&sr=1-11 Wing Material: 4mm Corrugated Plastic Sign Blank https://www.amazon.com/Corrugated-Plastic-White-Sign-Blanks/dp/B01IFKA8TY Instructions: 1.) Print both the L and R body halves. 2.) Wire up a dual output shaft motor. (Mabuchi dual output shaft RS-385PH-1470) 3.) Feed wire end thru opening in LH Body half and mount engine into the motor mount. Pull wire tight and mark location on wire where it's passing through the body half. Remove the motor from the engine mount and back the wire out of the hole. Tie a knot in the wire at the marked location. This serves as a stop to protect the motor mounts and motor from damage if wire is pulled. 4.) Insert motor into R body half and align the holes in the motor mount to the threaded holes on the motor face. Thread is M2.6. (Hardware Optional) 5.) Glue electric motor into place by hot gluing around the engine and motor mount standoffs. Feed wire back through the left hand opening. 6.) Apply super glue to the R body half. Align the pins and press the two halves together. 7.) After the halves are dry, Glue on tail feathers to the tail. Use best guess. Then glue roost mount to the belly of the body. Again use best guess. 8. Use the roost mount to mount decoy on a roost of your choice. Use 3/8" bolt for swivel.
