Wing Nuts (Metric)

Wing Nuts (Metric)

thingiverse

These precision-sized wing nuts will accommodate M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10 & M12 standard hex-nut sizes perfectly. The models are based on a comprehensive hex-nut data table from www.fairburyfastener.com, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Standard hex-nuts can vary in size between brands/batches by almost 1mm, so these models will give you an initial good fit but some fine adjustments may be necessary to achieve the exact fit required. If scaling up/down to suit your hardware, keep in mind that a small scale change has a significant impact at this precision level. These wing nuts are designed for precision and quality, and I hope others can get great use out of them. Print Settings: Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: It doesn't matter what type of raft you use. Supports: No supports are needed. Resolution: Print resolution ranges from 0.1 - 0.25mm depending on the size. Infill: Infill percentage should be between 20-50%. Notes: I printed the smallest M3 size with PLA, using three wall thicknesses and three solid layers at the top and bottom (0.1mm layer height) along with 25% infill. The result is a perfectly fitting wing nut that requires significant effort to break once tightened. If I were tightening anything up this hard for a practical reason, I wouldn't use wing nuts - I'd use a spanner instead.
