Wing Nut for Guitar Output Jack
cults3d
I misplaced the outer nut for my Ibanez RG output jack quite some time ago. Hearing it takes a while to get spare parts from Ibanez never led me to order a new one - I'm actually really fond of my guitar, but I've always been willing to improvise. I had just taken the inner nut and placed it on the outside as an expedient solution. I recently completed building my ToM, so now I finally have the chance to replace the lost part. However, with complete control over customization at my fingertips, I'm not content with a standard output jack nut. I want one that's truly exceptional. To find the ideal hole size, I conducted some experiments using just cylinders. After several tests, I was able to determine the correct hole size and then used it as a guide to draw the rest of the design. The normal nut sits inside a groove, which is why the wings had to be offset in my custom design.
