Wing Nut - Flanged Heavy duty Golf Cart Battery Hold down 1/4-20 UNC
thingiverse
Because of the corrosive environment created by charging lead acid batteries, lead acid battery hold down nuts corrode fairly quickly and eventually become nearly impossible to remove. Even stainless steel nuts erode if they are not continually cleaned and protected with terminal spray or grease - a messy endeavor indeed. So I designed this Heavy Duty Flanged Wing Nut to replace the corroded Hold down Nuts on my electric golf cart, which is powered by lead acid batteries. The Taulman 910 Nylon seems strong enough to do the job and allow for easy removal for cleaning between batteries once or twice per year - only time will tell if it holds up. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 100% Notes: Taulman 910 Filament was printed on a 50 degree Celsius heat glass bed coated with hair spray for adhesion. Extruder temperature is 162 degrees Celsius. I made a couple of these wing nuts for this gas cart. This battery was originally held by stamped steel wing nuts, which rusted away due to the corrosive environment.
