Wine Hand
myminifactory
This is a custom designed wine holder. Both components are printed with a witbox @200 microns resolution. The supports are integrated into the outer face of the holder. The design concept was inspired by this model on myminifactory.com/some-wine-682. I used a hand from the open-source program makehuman and added subdivision with blender to create a precise fit for a standard 750ml wine bottle. The holder was then edited to ensure stability and a secure grip on the base. In the initial version, the bottle was prone to instability when placed on the middle finger. To address this issue, I rigged the fingers and designed three of them to hold the bottle in place (as shown in the last photo). A small amount of glue may be necessary to secure the hand to the base. UPDATE 12/09/2015: I have uploaded an alternative version of the base that is approximately 15.4 cm shorter. This modification was requested by user chrisdug, and I quickly proportionally edited the front part to accommodate the new dimensions. Although the revised base has not been tested yet, I am confident it will perform similarly to the original design, given that I did not alter the component that attaches to the hand. Feel free to suggest any further modifications.
