thingiverse
Designing and manufacturing a wine glass using FreeCAD software requires several key steps to achieve accuracy and precision. First, create a new project in FreeCAD by going to File > New. Then, open the Part Design workbench by clicking on the "Part Design" button in the top left corner of the screen or pressing the corresponding keyboard shortcut. Next, create a new body by right-clicking inside the 3D view and selecting "New Body." Name this body "Wine Glass" to help keep track of your design elements. Now, switch to the Sketcher workbench by clicking on the "Sketcher" button in the top left corner or pressing the corresponding keyboard shortcut. Create a new sketch by right-clicking inside the 3D view and selecting "New Sketch." Name this sketch "Wine Glass Base." In the Sketcher workbench, create points A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H as shown in the illustration below. Use these points to draw a circle with center point O by clicking on point O and dragging your mouse while holding down the left mouse button. Release the mouse button when you have created the desired circle. Next, switch back to the Part Design workbench and click on the "New Feature" button in the top left corner or press the corresponding keyboard shortcut. In the resulting dialog box, select the "Pad" option from the drop-down menu and click OK. In the Pad feature dialog box, enter 1.0 as the Height value and check the "Merge with previous" checkbox to ensure that this new pad is merged with the existing body. Then click OK. Repeat steps 8-10 for the stem of the wine glass by creating a new sketch and then using it to create a new pad feature. Now, use the Part Design workbench to create a hole in the center of the base of the wine glass. Click on the "New Feature" button in the top left corner or press the corresponding keyboard shortcut, select the "Pocket" option from the drop-down menu, and click OK.
