Wine bottle draining rack
thingiverse
Simple wine bottle draining rack (for post-sterilising when homebrewing). Designed to hold nine bottles with maximum outer neck diameters of 32mm and body diameters of 75mm, accommodating Wilkinson green/clear corked wine bottles from the UK. This design should fit other types as well. It holds bottles vertically with their necks downwards, preventing fluid collection at the bottle's shoulder, a common issue with angled racks. The rack remains stable even when holding just one bottle in any hole. Printed in PLA using a 1.0mm nozzle and a 0.8mm layer height, which worked well despite being the default setting at the time. Other nozzle sizes can be used for printing. The 1mm nozzle is ideal for quick prints of large structures with low detail, resulting in strong final products. With an infill percentage of 15%, the rack feels rigid and competent due to its solid construction. It took approximately two hours to print at a speed of 50mm/s. To print successfully, place the model flat side down without any supports, as I did. No bed adhesion is required other than a light coating of hairspray. The rack's dimensions are 192mm square, so ensure your printer bed can accommodate it. If you plan to use pressurised bottles, consider upsizing the design by a few percent to account for their slightly thicker necks and wider bodies.
