WindSprinters -- Parametric Wind Turbines for every car!

Hello! My name is Reagan! I'm 14 and this is the WindSprinter, an attachment for Lego or handmade cars to make them powered by the wind. Just slide the WindSprinter onto your front or rear axle and get rolling! 1.Theory The WindSprinter is based on a classic English semi-cylinder turbine design. Watch this video to see how it works! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkHsxSlIrBw The arrows represent wind flowing into the turbine. 2.Assembly First, build the car you want to power using the example cars I've included. Second, set up your box fan or hair dryer to blow your WindSprinter down a long hallway. Lastly, gather friends and have fun racing! 3.Modification If your WindSprinter lacks torque or is too big for your car, use the HighTorqueTurbine file or the CompactTurbine file instead. To increase torque or make it smaller, open Turbine.ipt and adjust Parameters. Under User Parameters, you'll find three dimensions to change: Diameter, Intake, and Length. Diameter changes the turbine's diameter (default is 1.5). Intake affects intake size (default is 0.15). Higher Intake values create bigger intakes. Length sets the whole turbine length (default is 2.5). Note: Edit Diameter before Intake if enlarging, inverse if shrinking. Here's a video of the WindSprinter in action! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGtvswlt02E Check out more projects, our blog, and the 3D Acrylic Maze Kit at http://www.cuberinth.com under blog and projects!
