Windscreen washer button

My old Fiat 850 originally came equipped with a "spare tire powered" windscreen washer system, which relied on a water bottle pressurized by air from the spare tire, and a simple button that allowed the water to flow to the washers. After more than 40 years, this system had finally fallen by the wayside, replaced by a conventional water bag and an electrically driven pump. The conversion process wasn't too difficult, but the button and its mounting bracket needed some serious TLC. So I designed a new bracket that would fit snugly around the electrical switch - a heavy-duty, general-purpose button switch with a 22mm thread (26 tpi) - and a brand-new button featuring the windscreen washer symbol. The photo shows the finished button on the left, the remains of the original bracket in the center, and the remnants of the original rubber button on the right. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: BQ Prusa Rafts: Yes Supports: No Notes: I printed the button at 100% scale, with the face down. Post-Printing The button was sanded and polished with steel wool and a scrubbing pad. I had actually printed the button face down, but forgot to remove the support option, so I had to rework the symbol by removing excess material with a thin piano wire. To fill in the symbol, I used correction fluid and then removed the excess material by sanding and scraping. Finally, I finished it off with a clear wax coating.
