Windrad / Wind turbine
thingiverse
I have created a mount for the wind turbine https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1659269 from astfaellergerald, and I am letting the wind turbine spin freely without a generator in my garden. See videos and pictures. To secure the rotor blades, I use M4 screws. The mounting bracket on the rod is also secured with M4 screws. The rest of the screws are M3. If you have any questions, please comment below. The whole thing was printed with 0.35mm layer thickness, 2 perimeter walls, and 40% infill. Everything except for the file windrad_basis_halterung.stl was printed without support. To secure the rotor to windrad_halter_v2.stl, I used a M3x35mm screw with 4 10mm ball bearings and pressed it in. windrad_basis_halterung.stl and will be connected to the top part with an M3x35mm screw and 2 10mm ball bearings. You can insert a threaded sleeve with ball bearings into the base mounting bracket and attach a generator at the end. However, you must then use a double pulley system and adjust the wing assembly to make room for the generator. A suitable generator in my opinion is a three-phase brushless generator such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019K6LN5U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You can also find it cheaper on AliExpress. However, I have not designed a holder for this generator, maybe that will come later. You should also provide a gear ratio between the wind turbine shaft and the generator, as the wind turbine here in central Germany will not achieve sufficient RPM to generate power effectively. Of course, this is only intended for powering small DIY projects (LEDs, Arduino, charging smartphones, etc.). Power generation for household use is not feasible with this setup. It's best to connect a B6 bridge rectifier behind the generator and use a DC-DC converter that can handle the rapidly changing input voltages and compensate for them.
