Window Sill Extender Support Clamp (Great for Indoor Gardens)

Window Sill Extender Support Clamp (Great for Indoor Gardens)

For all the indoor gardeners!

I was tired of my very small window sills that were not wide enough to hold plants for good sunlight. I didn't want to permanently add a larger window sill with glue or screws, so I designed a clamp that could hold a shelf to make a larger temporary sill.

In my design I used a router to cut a channel in the window sill to mount the clamps, but this isn't completely necessary. Clamp options include a flat set-screw and a ball-and-socket end set screw. Should fit window sills from 20 to 35 mm width. Minimum existing window sill width to clamp onto is approximately 25 mm.

Print with PETG for strength, 20% infill should be fine but higher would better support a higher mass load on the shelf.

Assembly BOM:

1x shelf/board cut to size of window sill (of what desired width you want)

3x M3.5 wood screws (originally designed for US #6 screws) per clamp

I suggest 1 clamp every 0.3 m, with a minimum of 3 clamps for stability.

I design in a non-standard CAD program so I don't have an easily customizable model I can share unfortunately. If you have requests for different sizes or radii, please let me know and I'll try to accommodate.
