Window regulator roller for Jeep Grand Cherokee (ZJ)
thingiverse
Jeep vehicles with scissors-type window regulators feature three pins with ball ends that have plastic rollers over the balls. These plastic rollers run in channels, raising and lowering the windows as they go. Over time, they break, causing the window to drop into the door. In years past, I've used shower door rollers to repair regulators but now it's easier to print replacement rollers using a 3D printer while keeping steel pins intact. Three are required for full repairs. If you're like me, just go ahead and print six or eight because you'll likely ruin some or drop them and lose them in the process. I recommend printing these in something stronger than PLA; I used ABS but PETG or nylon would work too. Print flat side down against the print bed to ensure a successful repair. There are two ways to install them: either put them into the channel, heat the roller with a hair dryer on low, then press the pin into place, or first heat them up, press them onto the pin, and then put the assembly into the channels. Watch the video to see how I did it.
