Window Pain (STC #186) ### A Packing Puzzle by Stewart Coffin This design is a multi-faceted puzzle that requires packing the same six polyomino pieces into an obstructed tray in various ways. I find this design particularly engaging because it offers multiple challenges of increasing difficulty, providing hours of entertainment in a compact package. There are four STL files: the pieces, the tray, a tray cap, and a lid. A 2D printable instruction sheet is also included as one of the images, adapted from Coffin's original instructions. To assemble the puzzle, you will need to print the pieces, tray, and tray cap; the lid is optional but will neatly contain the entire puzzle and instruction sheet. First, assemble the tray by gluing it together using super glue in each corner hole. Once dry, attach the tray cap securely onto the tray using its four pegs that fit into the holes. The photos show the tray and cap side by side before assembly and fully assembled. Here are the full instructions: <img src="https://cdn.thingiverse.com/renders/d2/43/cb/d9/f6/8d48c2583ddd375243b69113c1cca3eb_preview_featured.jpg"/> This model was created using puzzlecad, and I have included the .scad file for remixing purposes. You will need puzzlecad version 1.3 or later. ### About the Designer Stewart Coffin is a renowned designer of interlocking mechanical puzzles, having produced a wide range of ingenious designs in various shapes and complexity.
