Window Motor Hub With Set Screw

Window Motor Hub With Set Screw

thingiverse

This hub serves as the foundation for window motors in First Robotics Competition/FRC. I adapted it from Sykoyoyo's Window Motor Hub to enable the use of a #8 set screw when you require a more secure attachment to the motor. This design was initially intended for an off-season project with a minibot. Since mechanum wheels on the minibot had a tendency to pop off the motor shaft, I added the hole for the set screw to provide a better fit. Although it's optimized for 3D printing, you can also use a CNC mill to create this hub. Feel free to reduce the resolution if necessary, especially when it comes to printing threads for the set screw hole. To ensure proper threading, you may want to use 4-5 shells in the process. Post-Printing Thread the set screw hole as needed The unthreaded set screw hole in this design was done to avoid subpar results from most printers. If required, take a tap and thread it properly.
