Window hinge that rotates and translates

Window hinge that rotates and translates

thingiverse

A creative piece of my kinetic art project, showcasing a custom-designed hinge for a window crafted with precision maths and plenty of patience. This clever mechanism allows the window to rotate around its outer corner, which remains detached from any supporting element. To achieve this remarkable effect, I've strategically mounted one such hinge at the top and bottom of the window, connecting them with a specialized piece that enables synchronized movement. Witness the seamless interaction in this video: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/105767091234703883277/albums/5993906468959562673/6067206541258471522?authkey=CLGb9aPa-8_cZQ&pid=6067206541258471522&oid=105767091234703883277 **Instructions** Cut the intricate pieces of my kinetic art project from 3mm ply wood or MDF and assemble them as shown in the photos. Please note that acrylic won't work effectively due to its tendency to distort when extremely thin. The provided files include all necessary components: a single hinge, a window unit, and the part connecting two hinges. For smooth movement, apply a small amount of Vaseline between the pieces before assembling.
