Window Cleaning Windscreen Wiper Squeegee
thingiverse
This is a custom holder for a windscreen wiper blade head. It specifically accommodates heads with an approximate 12.8 mm depth of metal, which can be obtained at a low cost or salvaged from old units after they have been replaced in your vehicle. The existing window squeegee had failed to meet expectations due to its tendency to leave streaks, prompting the creation of this solution. To use it, simply slide the blade onto the holder from one side, ensuring that the metal is flush with the back surface as you do so. This prevents the blade from slipping into a channel designed to accommodate the rivet commonly used for mounting to a car. The rivet head should be positioned at the top of the blade, as this is where the channel is widest. Centering the blade in the squeegee head will result in a snug fit. If the fit is too loose, adjustments can be made by tweaking printer settings or packing the blade with adhesive tape. Conversely, if it's too tight, rescaling the print may be necessary. Two versions of this design are available: one for handheld use and another that fits on a painter's pole, similar to paint rollers. This allows for streak-free windows without the need for additional equipment.
