One of the most annoying thing with plastic frequently used parts is that in time they fall apart. My house has window blinds operated by a wand that is attached to the mechanism with joint surrounded by lousy plastic thingy holding the parts in place. You cannot buy this part separately anywhere but you have to buy the whole mechanism to replace it. This is both expensive and not so ecological. The two small pieces go around the joint and third one slides over them to lock them into place. Part sizes can be (easily) changed from supplied code
