Window airing bracket
thingiverse
I know that this unique design is only relevant for a select few, but I still hope others can draw inspiration from it. In our home, the windows are hinged at the top, and it's wonderful to be able to open them without any annoying noises coming from window latches or other mechanisms. The one small issue we encountered was when we didn't want to have the windows fully open, because if they were left slightly ajar, they would tend to close at the slightest breeze. To solve this problem, I created these airing brackets that will keep the windows 10cm open. The bracket is specifically designed for our windows (kastrup vinduet, wood-alu), but it might fit other windows as well - although I wouldn't know for certain. I aimed to make the bracket as sturdy as possible, so instead of bending it by design, I printed it flat on the printing bed and then used a hot air gun to heat and shape it into its desired form. If you don't have a hot air gun (you really should get one), you can also heat the bracket in the oven. This means I can use the same bracket in both our home and workshop, where the windows are 120cm high and 50cm high, respectively. I designed the bracket with a small tongue that bends downwards to prevent the window from hitting the end of the bracket. The design process was a bit trial-and-error, and I had to make some adjustments that resulted in a far-from-professional-looking design. However, since it works for my needs and probably won't be of interest to many others, I've decided not to spend any more time on it. https://youtu.be/TbFa35_LSbM
