The original design was found on Instructables, created by "stevo1357." You can view it here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Wood-Chopper-Windmill/. I made some modifications to simplify the printing process. Below are the parts list and assembly instructions for my version of this windmill: List of Parts: 1 x WM-001-legs 1 x WM-002-body 1 x WM-003-head 1 x WM-04-wheel 3 x WM-05-wheel 3 x WM-05-wheel-v2 1 x WM-004-armL 1 x WM-004-armR Instructions: - The legs should have two holes at the bottom for easy assembly with the base. - There are holes in the legs and body for pinning them together, which I will provide soon. - The arms feature a 4mm hole to hold them in place with an M4 dome head screw; ensure the left arm is tight and the right one is loose (for movement). - To assemble the windmill, use pins (about 4mm diameter) to fix the vanes alternately onto the main wheel. Some sandpaper might be needed for a perfect fit. - The main crank can be made from a 6mm steel rod, while the movement crank can be fashioned from a wire coat hanger by wrapping it around the main crank several times. I plan to design a printed part for this and use coat hanger wire for the rest. I have uploaded drawings for both cranks, and I will model an easier-to-print version of the movement crank (crank2). This is a work in progress; updates will be provided as time allows. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me.
