Windmill coat hanger with mechanics
thingiverse
My four-year-old nephew loves windmills, so for his birthday, I decided to create a windmill toy with mechanical movement using my 3D printer. To simplify the design, I opted for a linear motion transmission rather than an accurate inner workings of a traditional windmill. The toy can be personalized with the recipient's name or any other design on the moving platform. To assemble the windmill, print its different parts in various colors without support (except for the wheel), and then lock them together. Attach the motion plate with your customized design before printing. Glue the base and ground plate together and secure the rest of the parts using M4 bolts or glue if you don't have them. Share a picture if you create one yourself! The STL file is provided, along with additional formats for the motion plate for easy customization.
