Windex 15 Replacement Vane
thingiverse
Replacement for Davis Windex, their versions frequently fail and cost $35 US to replace. This alternative model is constructed with added durability in mind, yet it may not operate as efficiently in light winds. Instructions This item prints into 4 individual components allowing for optimal placement on an 8.25" long printer bed. Once assembled, the vane will measure roughly 15" in length. Firstly, print each separate piece. The tail can be tricky to print on some printers; I experienced better results when printing two pieces at a time. Attach the nose to the body by using glue. Similarly, glue the tail onto the main body, which has key markers for identifying the correct end. The key will indicate whether it's the front (nose) or back (tail). Next, affix the spacer to the lower compartment of the assembly. A piece of wire is used for accurate alignment of the holes between the main body and the spacer. Prepare a hole in the required size suitable for your chosen shaft.
