Wind Vane for Arduino or Pi Weather Station

thingiverse

The vane for an Arduino-based weather station is designed to work seamlessly with any wind measurement application. To detect the angle of the vane, a continuous-turn potentiometer is utilized as the sensor. The vane itself can be constructed from just five printed parts and a few other readily available materials. With the exception of the continuous turn potentiometer, all necessary components can easily be sourced from your local hardware store. A 1/2 inch bolt is cleverly concealed within the nose piece to provide a precise counterbalance for the tail fin.
