Wind turbine V3

Wind turbine V3

EDIT: V4 available NOW ! ;) I've designed this turbine to generate electricity and charge small devices like smartphones or power LED strips. I couldn't use solar panels because my balcony gets sunlight only 4 hours a day, but luckily I live near the sea with constant wind throughout the day and night. This makes building a wind turbine a good alternative. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8p_QvocnHA So far, this wind turbine has a good base to start with. Any advice is welcome. This wind turbine starts generating electricity at 3m/s (approximately 0.10km/h) with no load attached. The measured torque on the shaft is approximately 0.25N.m at 20km/h wind speed. I think this is sufficient to move a DC motor and produce some electricity, but it may increase the wind speed required for the turbine to start. I'm still working on storing the generated electricity in a 12V battery and restoring it to a load. This part of the project is the most challenging so far. I used Acrylic to make the blades, not just for aesthetics (although they look great!), but because my 3D printer can't print large parts. The Microdelta Rework can only print parts with a maximum diameter of 150mm and a height of 200mm. Tools needed: * Screwdriver (Pozidriv or Phillips depending on the M4 screw) * Dremel (only if the blades are cut directly in Acrylic) * Saw to cut threaded rod, or you can use a Dremel Components: * 1.5mm Clear Acrylic Plastic Sheet, size A2 * Cyanolit Koltout Express, double-Sided adhesive (only needed if blades are made of Acrylic) * 4 Generic ball bearings 28x12x8 (IGUS BB-6001-B180-30-ES recommended, but they're quite expensive) * Threaded Rod, M6, 3 meters * Threaded Rod, M10, 1 meter * M6 Nylon-insert lock nut - qty 10 * M6 Nut - qty 20 * M6 Washer - qty 20 * M4x40 "Poelier" type Screw - qty 10 * M4 nut - qty 10 * M10 Nylon-insert lock nut - qty 1 * M10 Nut - qty 20 * M10 Washer - qty 20 Printed with ABS from E-motion tech 1.75mm, 250°C. Enjoy! PS: Sorry for my English!
