People construct wind turbines, also known as wind energy converters, which convert wind kinetic energy into electricity. Wind turbines come in various styles with both vertical and horizontal axes. The smallest turbines are used for tasks such as charging batteries for auxiliary power on boats or caravans or to power traffic warning signs. Larger turbines can be utilized to supplement a home's electrical supply while selling excess power back to the utility company through the electricity grid.
